Obviously in the youtube videos the profiling was discrimination and its sad to say many Americans think this way.
Working in the medical field for over 9 years, I have come accustom to treating many races and various ages. An example of using racial profiling in a positive way would be when I make phone calls and I recognize the patient is lets say elderly, I will try to explain things more clearly without slang so they understand. Same goes for if the patient is Spanish speaking.
Racial profiling and linguistic discrimination happens everyday. Like the 20/20 situation all we can do is help not only the victims, but also the accuser or it will always stay a vicious cycle.

I do know what you mean in the fact that you feel very diverse in cultures I feel the same. Though I have a friend who is overweight, and I really hated it to see people just... so from that one time of seeing how it hurt her when people would be so ignorant towards her. I worked in fast foods for a year and I saw my coworkers being really rude to some of the people who came in and it also went booth ways though. But it was after one of my best friends for fourteen years now was really hurt by the society is when I wouldn't ever discriminate those who don't look or act or talk like me. Society has a way of killing people just not in physical ways.
I think that is funny how you mentioned when taking the quiz you had felt well diverse and cultured. The thing a like about this course is that when entering into the class many people think or feel they know everything and leaving knowing less. Which is an awesome thing because it should intrigue one to learn more about the culture.
I agree with you that it can be a good thing to be good at profiling people by their voice. I loved those two examples you gave because I have been in those same sitsuations also and it helps both people to successfully get the message accross.
